David R.E. Hale
President

Mr. Hale has over 20 years of senior level experience in financial and operational programs. He assumed the position of President of International Smart Sourcing, Inc. in 2002, after having been the Chief Operating Officer from 2000-2001.

Mr. Hale previously worked as an independent management consultant after having served and been promoted early to every rank in military service before retiring as a Major General. His military positions include: Commanding General of the US Army forces in Southeastern Europe, Deputy Commanding General and Chief of Staff of US Army Forces in the Pacific, Assistant Division Commander, Deputy Director for Politico-Military Affairs, Joint Chiefs of Staff. He is a veteran of Vietnam and Desert Storm, and was awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart.

Frank Pellegrino
Vice President of Plastics

Mr. Pellegrino is an accomplished engineer and consultant in the field of plastics, mold and product design, and manufacturing. His experience with the company goes back to 1968-73, during which time he was Plant Manager for subsidiary company Electronic Hardware Corporation, Farmingdale, NY. From 1973-74 he served as Molding Department Manager, Aurora Plastics Division of Nabisco Corp., in West Hempstead, NY. From 1974-1999 he served as Vice President Engineering of Electronic Hardware Corporation, and since 1999 Vice President of Plastics of Smart Sourcing, Inc.

Richard A Trendley
Vice President of Metals

Mr. Trendley has held various positions of increased responsibility in the metal fabricating and die casting industry. These positions include QC Manager, Sales Manager, Plant Manager and Marketing Manager during his 40 years in Manufacturing. Since 2002 he has served as Vice President of Metals at Smart Sourcing Inc. Mr. Trendley graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BA in Economics from Avilla College and he graduated from the University of Missouri with a BS in Business Administration.

Bob Tilton
Vice President of Electronics

Mr. Tilton’s diverse background in manufacturing and operations management has covered 30 years in the industry.  Some of the companies where he has worked previously include General Electric, Eaton Corporation and Globecomm Systems before joining Smart Sourcing Inc. in 2001 to develop the Electronics division.  During this time frame, he has held various positions of increased responsibility in consumer and OEM product manufacturing plus new product development.  These positions have included manufacturing engineering, production control, quality assurance and overall plant management.   Mr. Tilton is a graduate from University of Massachusetts – Amherst, MA with a BS degree in Industrial Engineering & Operations Research.

Brian Strebel
General Manager, West Coast Operations

Mr. Strebel has been with Smart Sourcing, Inc. since 2003 overseeing corporate-wide marketing activities. From 2001-2002 he served as Project Coordinator at Fidelity Investments. Previously, Mr Strebel spent 5 years in Asia as Smart Sourcing's Chief Representative Officer in our Shanghai office overseeing corporate business development activities throughout Asia. Mr. Strebel has a BSBA from Boston University’s School of Management and an MBA from Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business. Mr. Strebel has lived in Asia for over 15 years and speaks fluent Chinese-Mandarin.

Gregg Wical
Vice President of Asia Operations

Mr. Wical joined Smart Sourcing in November 2013. He has over 18 years of experience in the purchasing & sourcing fields, including 9 years of Asia sourcing. He was previously employed with Dorman Products, a distributor of after-market auto parts, from 2009 to 2013, as Director of Asia Operations overseeing offices in Shanghai, Ningbo, Taipei, Mumbai and New Delhi. His former positions include Manager, International Purchasing Office for Teradyne from 2008 to 2009 in their Suzhou, China office and Senior Sourcing Manager for Dayton Superior from 2001 to 2008 in their Dayton, Ohio and Shanghai, China offices. Mr. Wical has a BS in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Purdue University and an MBA in Operations Management from the University of Cincinnati. He has lived in Shanghai, China for over 7 years.

Director of Manufacturing

Xia is a mechanical engineer with a masters in quality management. He worked as an engineer at the Chang Chun Branch of Ji Lin Carbon Plant China from 1989 to 1996. From 1996 to 2003, he served as a quality engineer with Sunningdale Plastic Pte Ltd Singapore and quality manager with Sunningdale Pte Lte Shanghai China. He has worked at Smart Sourcing, Inc in various positions since 2004.
